DekaMarkt wins SmartSpotter Promo Compliance Award 2021

With an overall score of 8.2, DekaMarkt has won the prestigious award for the retailer with the highest compliance on the shop floor. The title was awarded by SmartSpotter for the fifth year in a row.

NAARDEN – With an overall score of 8.2, DekaMarkt has won the prestigious award for the retailer with the highest compliance on the shop floor. The title was awarded by SmartSpotter for the fifth year in a row.

SmartSpotter monitors whether the promotional communication and availability of promoted products in store complies with the agreements at regular intervals or during flyer promotions. These measurements, which are based on mobile crowdsourcing, reveal that around two out of five promotions are not executed on shop floors as agreed. This year, compliance was again measured based on perfect execution on the shelf (availability of products). The compliance figures in the Netherlands rose from 71% in 2020 to 77% on shelves and from 54% to 70% for second placement.

To identify a winner, SmartSpotter carried out measurements at more than 3.5 million measurement points across fourteen countries this year. Last year, DekaMarkt achieved sixth place in the promotion execution ranking for Dutch supermarkets with an overall score of 7.8. This year, Dirk – the 2018 winner – won second prize with an average score of 7.9, closely followed by Plus Retail, last year’s winner.

Joris Janvier, unit manager at DekaMarkt, is proud. “This is a fantastic confirmation that we are on the right track at DekaMarkt. Our colleagues in the stores and our suppliers focus on optimum store presentation so we can offer our customers the best every day!”

“Winning the SmartSpotter Promo Compliance Award confirms that the course we have adopted at DekaMarkt is the best way of realising our ambitions for the coming years”, adds Ralf Simons on behalf of the DekaMarkt board.
